Web Aletheia

Web Aletheia is an internal FamilySearch tool used to prepare indexing records for the users.

The severe pain-points and issues that were solved are as follows:

  • Workflow

  • Manual database updates and task tracking

  • Secure data storage

I researched Web Aletheia to familiarize myself with the product. I took account of all the users, as well as their needs and pain points. I implemented the correct design flow for the new tool according to this research. I came up with the following design and layout which includes count-chips, color coordinated info icons, a quick image view, and a toggle button to select all tasks or 'my tasks only'.

There can be hundreds of tasks assigned and the users always run into the problem of having to open a full task to see if it's the one they were working on previously. I quick-view eliminates this issue.

The small information-icons on the left are color coordinated according to the task title. The color indicates the task title, but if they forget the color's meaning they are able to hover over the info-icon to see the title.

The counting-chips indicate how many total tasks, annotation tasks, review tasks, completed tasks, and tasks on hold . This also gives the user the ability to choose to view the separate tasks.
