Documentation
UX documentation captures design decisions, research insights, and processes, making them clear and shareable. It helps teams understand the “why” behind choices, ensures consistency, and preserves knowledge for future projects.
Documentation Workflow
List of Projects
To keep my work organized and easy to track, I maintain a master project table. This list includes every UX project with dates, links, and a project status. This helps managers, and PM's stay up with my work, but also simplifies handing off projects and details to other UX designers.
UX Process
For each project, I follow a structured UX process template. This framework starts with defining the problem and linking the Jira story, then moves through research, wireframes, iterations, and user testing. I include multiple design reviews before finalizing the design. This ensures transparency, consistency, and collaboration throughout the design cycle.
Confluence Pages
Finally, I create a dedicated Confluence page to document the full process. These pages include the problem statement, research findings, design decisions, and final deliverables. By capturing the full process in one place, I make it easy for teammates to find context, track progress, and understand why certain design choices were made.
